A Malaysian politician from the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), he served as the Minister of Agriculture Industries from 2020 to 2021 and has been a Member of Parliament for Kuala Nerus since May 2013.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan in 1996. He continued his university studies and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Al al-Bayt University, Al-Mafraq, Jordan in 2000.
He then earned a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies (2011) from the Department of Arabic and Islamic Civilization, FPI, UKM.
