Professor Dr. Rami Hamdallah


Academic and Palestinian politician. He was tasked on June 3, 2013, with forming a new Palestinian government to succeed Salam Fayyad, and was again appointed on May 29, 2014, to form the Palestinian National Unity Government.

Educational Background: Hamdallah graduated from the University of Jordan in 1980 and obtained a master's degree from the University of Manchester in 1982. He then earned a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Lancaster University in 1988.

Professional Life: Hamdallah worked as a professor at An-Najah National University, where he taught English before becoming the university's president in 1998. He served as the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Central Elections Commission since 2002.

He also served as the chairman of the board of directors of the Palestine Stock Exchange for three terms.
