Ahmed Davutoğlu


A Turkish politician and expert in international relations, Davutoğlu served as the Prime Minister of Turkey and the second President of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) from 2014 to 2016, succeeding Erdoğan. Erdoğan appointed him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the sixty-first government. He also worked as an advisor on foreign policy to Abdullah Gül and Erdoğan from 2003 to 2009. Davutoğlu was a member of the Turkish Parliament representing Konya and a member of the Justice and Development Party between 2011 and 2015. He resigned from the position of Prime Minister on May 22, 2016.
