She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Jordan, and both her Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Public Health from Tufts University in the United States.
She has held several prominent positions including the presidency of Hashemite University, membership in the Executive Council of the Arab Women Organization, presidency of the Board of Trustees of Yarmouk University, former Minister of Social Development, and membership in the Senate.
