His Excellency Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh


A Jordanian lawyer, diplomat, and politician, Bisher Al-Khasawneh has been serving as the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Jordan since 2020.

Previously, he held the position of Minister of State for Legal Affairs from 2017 to 2018 and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2017. Al-Khasawneh served as Jordan's ambassador to Egypt, France, Kenya, Ethiopia, the African Union, the League of Arab States, and UNESCO. He also held the position of General Coordinator and Director of the Office of Peace Process and Negotiations in Jordan. Additionally, he worked as an advisor to King Abdullah II for Communication and Coordination at the Royal Hashemite Court from April 2019 to August 2020. Al-Khasawneh served as the King's policy advisor until his appointment as Prime Minister.
