He currently represents the Jordanian national team in the under 67kg category in karate. He began practicing karate in 2002 and attained his black belt in 2005 at Al-Saqer Club. He joined the national team for the first time in 2011. He was awarded the Black Iris Award for Best Jordanian Athlete in 2014.
Abdul Rahman Al-Mustafa won the bronze medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 67kg category. He also won two medals in the Asian Games and two medals in the Asian Karate Championship.
He won the silver medal in the men's Kumite 60kg event at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. He also won one of the bronze medals in the men's Kumite 67kg event at the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
