His Excellency Professor Dr. Ratib Salama Al-Saud


Dr. Saud obtained his General Secondary Certificate from Tafilah Secondary School in 1974, and his Bachelor's degree in Education in 1977, and Master's degree in Education in 1981 from the University of Jordan. He also earned a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Ph.D. in Educational Policies and Leadership from the University of Southern California in 1988.

Saud won membership in the Twelfth Parliament in 1993, and was appointed to the Twenty-Third Senate in 2009. He served as Minister of Higher Education in the governments of Abdul Salam Majali in 1994 and Sharif Zaid bin Shaker in 1995.

Saud worked academically and administratively at Mu'tah University, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Arab Open University, and the University of Jordan. He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Zarqa University from 2005 to 2017. He is the founder and president of the Jordanian Association for Educational Sciences since 2009.

Dr. Saud was awarded the Jordanian Order of the First Class, as well as several international awards. He is a member of several professional and political associations. He supervised over 150 doctoral theses at the University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Arab Open University, Lebanese University, and Cairo University. He has authored 14 books and published 135 scientific research papers.​
