His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Musaada


He served as the first Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, having been elected unanimously by all 43 member states of the Union. This made him the first person to hold this international position, with its General Secretariat based in Barcelona, Spain. He has also held the position of Minister of Public Sector Development, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the European Union, Belgium, Norway, and Luxembourg. Additionally, he served as Jordan's coordinator for the Union for the Mediterranean and Jordan's representative to NATO. He is a recipient of the Order of Independence, First Class (Jordan), and the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown (Belgium).

He studied law at the University of Jordan, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Law in 1991, a diploma in the American Legal System from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991, a Master's degree in Law from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, USA, in 1992, and a Ph.D. from King's College London, University of London, UK, in 2000.
