He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan in 1972 and a Computer Programming degree in 1979. He worked as an officer in the Royal Jordanian Air Force in the field of computer programming and served as an executive director for several companies, including Visa Card and the Jordanian Payment Services Company. He has held the positions of Minister of Culture, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Minister of State for Administrative Development. He was a well-known athlete in the Al Ahli Club basketball team and the national team from 1966 to 1973 and currently serves as the President of the Al Ahli Club.
He was awarded the Order of Independence, First Class, from the Royal Court in 2002.
