He is the President of Al-Balqa Applied University and directly oversees more than sixteen university colleges in Jordan. He is also the President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities.
He holds a PhD in Hydrogeology Hydrochemistry from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He has been a professor since 1998 and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Jordan until 2002.
He is the Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the International Conference on Water, Environment, and Health. He is a founding member of the Union of Arab Scientists and Researchers and a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
