Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Halhouli


​He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mutah University (1999), and Master's and PhD degrees in the same field from the University of Jordan (2001, 2007). He also holds a Habilitation in Microfluidics from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany (2013).

Currently, he serves as the President of the German-Jordanian University. Previously, he worked as a research associate and lecturer at the Institute of Microtechnology (IMT) at the Technical University of Braunschweig (2007-2013). He established the Nano Lab at the German-Jordanian University, the first of its kind in Jordan, which has attracted numerous local and international projects and partnerships.

He has received numerous scientific awards and grants, including a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Best Research Paper Award at the First Graduate Studies Research Conference (Amman, 2008), the Krueh Award for Best Published Research in Microtechnology (2007) in Germany, and the Outstanding Researcher Award at the German-Jordanian University (2014).
