Professor Dr. Zidane Kafafi


​He worked after graduating from the University of Jordan in 1971 as a curator at the Department of Antiquities of Jordan (1972), and at the University of Jordan (1972 - 1977). After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1982, he was appointed as a faculty member at Yarmouk University and he is still in his position to this day.

Due to his distinguished work, studies, and academic research in Jordanian antiquities, he has received several local and international awards, including:

  • His Majesty King Abdullah II awarded him the "King Abdullah II Medal for Excellence" of the second degree.
  • He was selected by the scientific committee of the World Science Forum held in Jordan as the "Star of Jordanian Science in Antiquities."
  • The Knight's Medal: Palms of the Academy from the French government.
  • The State Appreciation Award in Antiquities
