Academically, he held the position of Minister of Water and Irrigation in 2020. He was serving as a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Jordan since September 2019 before joining the governmental team. He worked as the Director of the Water, Energy, and Environment Center at the University of Jordan (2016-2018) and an Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Jordan (2015-September 2019) and an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Jordan (2012-2015) and the Executive Director of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), Industrial Technology Complex (2006-2011).
